81st International Inferno Race
Mürren
The Inferno race, first held in 1928 by "ski-crazy" Britons, is now considered the biggest amateur race in world skiing.
The number of participants is limited to 1850 and every year a few hundred people willing to start have to be turned away. The varied, special topography makes the appeal of this 14.9 km long course, which can also be skied outside the race. Good skiers need about 20 minutes for this beautiful descent. The winners in the race less than 15 minutes.
